Quick Travel Golf Spain Survey
1. Pick your golfing buddies wisely
Having good chemistry is really important. Remember you won’t just be playing golf, you’ll also be seeing each other at breakfast, lunch and dinner. If there is anything better than playing golf multiple rounds in multiple days… it’s doing it with people that you like to be around. Pick wisely.
2. Choose a region of Spain to play golf in
Where you play, will likely determine the cost and the type of courses you will play. Picking the coastal beaches along Barcelona, Malaga, Marbella or Cadiz will be on the costlier side with golf courses that have less vegetation. Destinations north of Madrid will be much greener and cheaper, but will like be more rural and slower paced. See our page Best Golf Courses in Spain and our Golf Courses in Marbella pages to begin to foster some ideas.
3. Choosing your non-golf activities is as important
Plans can change in a heartbeat due to injuries, sickness, unexpected situations and / or all of the above. If you’re going to jump the pond, you might as well take advantage of all that Spain has to offer. From gastronomy… to history… to architecture… to culture.
4. Don’t overdue it and have fun
The combination of jetlag, playing back-to-back rounds, switching from yards to meters, and potentially playing with rental clubs will likely get you out of your comfort zone. Remember to have fun, meet new people and avoid injuries by not overdoing it.
